#9 - Classmate Blog Critique

  2021 Classmate Blog Critique     One aspect of our Mass Media classes that I particularly enjoy is getting to see and read my classmates' blogs as they update them throughout the semester. Not only is it interesting getting to see what my peers are looking at and researching for our assignments, but I am also able to get some ideas for the assignments if I feel stuck on the topic. While all of my classmates have done a great job on their blogs this semester, there are two that I wanted to focus on for the classmate blog critique. These two blogs are Mackenzy Turner's and Cory Evans'.     Starting with Mackenzy's, there are a few things that I really enjoy about her blog. Right off  the bat, the appearance of her blog and the aesthetic of it is very appealing. It is a simple look and has a very convenient and efficient feel that allows the reader to easily scroll through her past posts.   COVID coverage around the world          The pandemic has almost completely turned around the lives of virtually everyone in one way or another. While COVID-19 has given us chances to find common ground with many people and has allowed more people to rely on each other, there is a large and steady difference that has occurred between the United States and the rest of the world. Bruce Sacerdote, an economics professor at Dartmouth College, said he began noticing something different while watching COVID coverage on popular news networks in the U.S. . Bruce said that everything seemed so negative despite any promising data that he has heard of surrounding the pandemic. It seemed like these news channels were emphasizing the increase of COVID cases when they were rising. In addition, when these cases were falling in a majority of the country, the news was focusing on the smaller percentage of places where the cases were continuing to rise.     ...
